About Student Traveler
Student Traveler is the largest travel magazine for college students in the U.S.
Every year, over a half million college students turn to Student Traveler for travel opportunities abroad. We focus on study abroad, work abroad and teach abroad opportunities worldwide.
OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY!
In 1997, we started Student Traveler as a simple, 16 page publication to motivate young people to see the world. That first issue with 3,000 circulation was distributed to 12 colleges in Southern California. Eric Tiettmeyer, the founder and Publisher of Student Traveler, took off between classes at UC Irvine in Orange County to deliver the copies.
Ten years later, Student Traveler has web site, 50 travel fairs, direct mail, and a weekly email newsletter.

Student Traveler aims to motivate young people to see the world. We believe that those that experience another culture will change for the better and continue to see the world.

I love the Eurail pass for the simple fact that you can stand on a train terminal anywhere in Europe and decide on whichever train you want at the last second. Need to escape the craziness and expensive hotels at Oktoberfest. Jump on a random train to Austria and go from there. I also love hostels. They are an invitation to solo travelers to meet new people on the road. My wife and I recently brought our first born into the world, Mac Tiettmeyer. So our type of travel may change a little because you can't exactly stick a playpen in a hostel room with 8 people. But I am sure we will manage!" |

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES
Student Traveler aims to motivate college students to see the world with fun, fresh editorial.
Students and free lance contributors are encouraged to write, photograph and/or illustrate for each guide. We publish in October and February, with a circulation of 100,000 each issue to 500 study abroad offices and career centers around the U.S. Each guide is given to college students who want to travel, in the resource center and the study abroad and career centers.
We pay 20 cents per word, and $20 per photo.
